Cisco Home Promotes Voter Registration

Friday, September 30, 2016

Election Day is just a little more than a month away, so now is the time to make sure you've registered to vote. Cisco Home recently teamed up with actor Edward James Olmos and the office of Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti to support a campaign encouraging Spanish speaking citizens to register and vote this November. Olmos, star of movies including "American Me" and "Stand and Deliver" is appearing in public service announcements with the message "Este Ano tu Voto es Cosa Seria," which means "This Year, Your Vote is a Serious Matter."

According to the Pew Research Center, Latinos in the past have been underrepresented in the electorate compared to their share of eligible voters. This campaign aims to change that.

Registering to vote is easier than you might think! The deadline to register in California is October 24th. To learn how to register, wherever you live, visit Your America, a website set up by Univision to make registering easy: http://www.youramerica.com/register-to-vote/
