Design & Sales Consultant - Santa Monica, CA


The Design & Sales Consultant is responsible for generating sales and providing an exceptional experience to all customers who choose Cisco Home.



  1. 1.     Sales Generation
  • Develop a client base through engaging customers that come to our store via website, phone or in person. 
  • Demonstrate effective sales techniques in the areas of engagement, determining needs, overcoming objections, adding on and closing the sale.
  • Achieve assigned sales goal through effective account management and targeting specific customers.
  • Create a welcoming and high-energy vibe that our customers feel when they walk through our doors.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Cisco Home product and all of the custom capabilities that are offered.
  • Design and create projects using technical and creative skills in color and space planning.
  • Create home furnishing design solutions by selling Cisco Home products that are consistent with the customer’s lifestyle and budget.
  • Remain the expert on current design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
  • Enter all customer orders according to company policy and procedure.
  • Follow up and communicate on all open orders to corporate and customer; present creative solutions and demonstrate problem-solving skills when product delays occur.
  • Read all communication and material on product or processes from corporate offices.
  • Attend store meetings, share information amongst peers and utilize the website, price book and other marketing materials available.
  • Loss prevention: practice awareness of and compliance with loss prevention and safety procedures.
  • Follow company policies and procedures including attendance, personal conduct, dress code and employee discount.
  • Help maintain impeccable standards on the sales floor so that our customers can see our attention to detail in everything we do; maintain a clean work space, back room and restroom.
  • Help ensure cohesive visual displays within the store; Assist in floor and fixture changes.

Position requirements:

  Two or Four year degree from an accredited institution in related field; or equivalent education through work experience

  Retail furniture experience preferred

  Computer skills to include excel and room planning

  Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  Must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from customer’s home

  Must be able to work holidays, evenings and weekends
