Meg McSherry Interiors

Interior with arm chair and coffee table. facing open patio windows

A family of four with two dogs commissioned the construction of a new "forever home" near Boston, with a focus on natural light and a calming atmosphere. The interior design utilized neutral colors, natural materials, comfortable furniture and organic textiles, creating a warm and inviting space.

How did you first discover Cisco Home?

I first discovered Cisco Home through Instagram, and then at a local store (shout out to Comina in Wellesley, MA!).  A few years ago, my team and I went to High Point Market and spent hours at the Cisco showroom.  We tested out every piece of furniture, taking notes on how each piece sat.

We continue to source from Cisco because we are always impressed with both the quality and comfort that each piece provides.  I'm always drawn to furniture that looks relaxed and inviting, encouraging someone to sit and stay for a while.  I also need pieces that have a tailored arm, or a foot with interesting details.    Cisco checks all the boxes, plus their commitment to sustainability earns them bonus points in my book.

Tell us about this project

This newly built 'forever home' for a family of four (plus two dogs!) in a town outside of Boston, MA, has amazing natural light and views.  The clients approached us to help them create a light and bright home that also felt calm and inviting.  The use of natural materials such as field stone, marble, and oak, bring an organic feel to the home.  Every piece of furniture had to be comfortable, appropriate for conversation, movie watching and naps.  Plus, it had to hold up to everyday life.  The client loves neutrals, so we focused on using different shades of white and beige, plus layering textures to keep the home feeling cozy.  Every textile is soft to the touch and has an organic inspired texture and most of the metal finishes will patina over time, adding a soulfulness to the home.
